Waddey Acheson earns Chambers USA ranking in its first year of business

Waddey Acheson law firm learned today that it has been recognized in the 2025 Chambers USA guide for excellence in Commercial Litigation, earning a coveted ranking in its very first year of operation.

This achievement marks a significant milestone for Waddey Acheson, which opened its doors in 2024. The firm’s litigation practice is led by founding partner Chanelle Acheson, and in March of this year, the litigation group added new partners David Bridgers and Bob Walker, both well known in the legal community for their litigation expertise and years of experience.

“For us to be ranked in our first year for our litigation team is gratifying and shows that our clients appreciate our work, and we are respected by our peers in the legal community,” said Acheson. “This recognition is a testament to the experience, professionalism, and courtroom credibility our team brings to work every day.”

Chambers and Partners, based in London, England, publishes one of the most respected legal directories in the world. Since 1990, the company has ranked attorneys and law firms through independent research, including client and peer interviews. The Chambers USA Guide covers all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and nationwide practice areas. It includes rankings for more than 50 practice areas, such as Corporate/Commercial, Labor & Employment, Litigation and Real Estate.

Acheson and the litigation team are currently engaged in several high-profile cases, including the “Friends of Belle Meade Boulevard” group’s effort to stop sidewalks from being constructed on Belle Meade Boulevard in Nashville and representing the Luke Lea heirs over a proposed road through Percy Warner Park that does not meet the requirements of the original park-land deed to the city. Earlier in the year, Acheson successfully represented the SB Initiative, Inc., the Swan Ball volunteer committee in a legal battle with Cheekwood over the rights to the legendary white-tie gala.

"Our litigation team is made up of amazing individuals – from the interns to the assistants to the paralegals to the attorneys – all of whom have contributed to the success of the firm in our first year. I am fortunate to have worked with many of these individuals before and honored that they have chosen to throw their lot in with Waddey Acheson in its debut year. A big thank you to each one of them, without whom this incredible honor would not have been possible." said Acheson.

Additionally, founding partner Jack Waddey was recognized twice, as a Chambers “senior statesman” in Tennessee for his expertise in intellectual property, and nationally, for his work in mediation. Waddey has been ranked by Chambers for many years for his expertise in intellectual property and added the mediation recognition since 2021.

“Jack set the standard for intellectual property law in Tennessee many years ago, and he continues to be a national expert in IP. His mediation practice is known nationally, and he is, at any time, working on several mediations with attorneys throughout the United States. It is gratifying to see him get this type of national recognition for his years of work in very difficult cases.” said Acheson.
